Music programs give back to communities forever. Why would we not want to know more about something constantly present in our lives? Suffice to say there are many potential music students who, for one reason or another, have inadvertently missed the window-of-opportunity, and therefore they will most likely never have the chance to participate in a music ensemble.

Adults are generally the people who want censorship in songs. A sense of achievement: Our music, and our art changes our own lives. Music connects us to other humans in amazing ways. In a highly competitive society they want to see their sons and daughters have every possible advantage in their educational climate, their chosen profession, and their selected community-of-living where, once again, the cycle will repeat itself with-and-for the next generation.

We know we have the most convincing recruitment information available to bring them to our rehearsal rooms: Music allows us to respond appropriately in social structure that is often confusing and complex.

Do parents, administrators, community leaders, and teachers of other disciplines understand even know this information?

I really wish people would stop "defending" music education like this. Music programs are watching administrators race by, frantically chasing test scores and ignoring music in schools.

The discipline of music making is transferable to every learning situation in and outside the academic community. Music does not need to make excuses for itself, as if it had no intrinsic worth. You usually hear blanking, which is when they silence the whole word, resinging, which is replacing the offensive word or phrase with a better word or phrase, distorting, when the words are shifted down a pitch so it is hard to understand, etc.

Students can fight stress by learning to play music. Who should study music? Read on to learn why music education is so important, and how it offers benefits even beyond itself.

In my opinion, they are just words, but society makes them bad. So, in my opinion, I think it would be okay to have profanity in music on the radio and that they shouldn’t censor it.

the should work on working on a community of people who love music—especially people who will Twitter about it, make their Facebook statuses about a band they’ve just found, blog about their favorite new music, email.

Why should music do anything in particular? As musicians, we believe so strongly that what we do will change people’s lives, and it just might, but that’s really a bi-product of something much more important.

WHY MUSIC? WHY BAND? “Music for the sake of music." Any responsible music educator will emphatically echo this important mantra; it is the keystone theme that serves as the foundation of music teaching, music learning, and music performance.
